PANDEMIC: AT THIS TIME I WILL TAKE ORDERS FOR CHAIRS AND OTHER PIECES.  CALL OR EMAIL IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR PROJECTS YOU WANT TO PROPOSE.

I have been a life long woodworker and have made most of the furniture and many of the cabinets in our home.  When I retired from teaching science for 38 years in 2009 I took on the challenge of making a Sam Maloof inspired rocker.  Once I had made a few chairs my wife and friends told me that the chairs were so beautiful and comfortable that I might be able to sell them.  I entered my first art show in Lake Arrowhead, CA. I won the best in show award, sold two rockers and received commissions to make 2 more.  Since then I have made over 50 rockers and some other pieces.  Each chair is an ergonomic piece of functional art that is not only beautiful but also extremely comfortable.  I spend over 120 hours on each rocker woeking to achieve perfection and pay particular attention to selecting and matching beautiful wood to enhance the overall design of the chair.  My rockers are my passion but I now also make regular chairs, tables, or other pieces on a commission basis.  I use a great many different kinds of domestic and exotic hardwoods and each chair is unique.  My basic rocker has laminated runners and back slats and incorporates the classic Maloof joints. The laminated back slats are stronger than solid ones but inprove comfort by flexing when you sit back in the chari,  My backslats also allow for book matching the wood grain and and more freedom of the design when shaping them.  Prices vary depending on the cost of materials and other factors that I may encounter while creating a chair.  We can work out a price and payment arrangement if you want to purchase an existing chair or commision a new chair or piece with a 50% downpayment.  Call or email to talk about prices or questions you may have.  Remember that I work alone and it takes me time to complete a piece because each of my pieces are a labor of love.

I will deliver chairs to your home free within 50 miles of my home in Skyforest, CA.  For greater distances in Southern California I may ask for some gas money.  Call or email to discuss delivery or shipping of chairs or other pieces of furniture to areas outside of Southern California.
